    PROPERTY IDENTIFICATION

    Source: Queensland Police Website

“Property that is most at risk of being stolen is desirable, usually small, has a good resale value and is able to be offloaded and sold quickly. Typically, this includes computers, cameras, multi-media devices, satellite navigation devices, mobile phones and power tools.”

Unfortunately the above items are being stolen during break and enter offences in the Jimboomba Police district.  To assist police, residents are urged to mark their property as this will make items less desirable and will assist police in returning stolen items.

Visit the Queensland Police Website http://www.police.qld.gov.au.  Go to Programs, Community Safety and Crime Prevention, Property Security, Property Identification.

    Other useful strategies:

    • Take photographs of jewellery and treasured possessions.
    • Record serial numbers of your valuables.
    • Record the IMEI number of your mobile telephone.
    • Keep this information in a safe place so that it can be easily accessed should the need arise.
